Swiss Ski School Adelboden - Snow Sports since 1933
In winter 1933/34, the Swiss Ski School Adelboden was founded by its first manager, Fritz Sarbach, who had previously undergone professional training at St. Anton in the Tirol.
The ski school gained quickly in popularity and records show that in the 1938/39 winter season 20,000 half-day lessons were given. During the boom years for ski tuition in the 1960s and 1970s, the school employed over 100 ski instructors - many of them local people. In 1972, the millionth ski lesson was taught!
Today, the Swiss Ski School Adelboden Association consists of 37 members. In the high season, up to 100 snow sports instructors teach the latest techniques for skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, and Telemark - providing you with an unforgettable snow sports experience.
Since 2003, teaching snow sports has been recognized as an official profession by the Swiss Federal Department of Professional Education and Technology.
